COAL GROVE -- Edith Zornes, 90, of Coal Grove, formerly of Ironton, died Tuesday at King's Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Ky.
The Rock Camp native was born Sept. 22, 1911, the daughter of the late James and Grace Jones Gannon. She was the wife of the late Orville H. Zornes.
She was a housewife and a charter member of Freedom Independent Baptist Church.
She also was preceded in death by two sisters, Mildred Gannon and Betty Cron; and one brother, Siro Gannon.
Survivors include two daughters, Dolores and Paul Queen of Flatwoods, Ky., and Judi and Perry Holiday of Coal Grove; four sons and daughters-in-law, Herman and Patty Zornes of Venice Fla., Ray and Nancy Zornes of Kitts Hill, Robert and Linda Zornes of Franklin Furnace and Douglas and Rose Mary Zornes of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; 25 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Wanda and Paul Schwab of Ironton, Helen Denison of Holt, Mich., and Leola and Henry Hall of Ironton; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary and Pat Gannon of Franklin Furnace, Oscar and Mary Gannon of Ohio Furnace and Frank and Henrietta Gannon of Hanging Rock.
Funeral will be 1 p.m. Friday at Tracy Brammer Funeral Home, with pastor Scott Jenkins officiating. Burial will be in Junior Furnace Cemetery in Scioto County. Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
