Civic group does a lot with a little

The Coal Grove Betterment Club epitomizes the concept of being able to accomplish a lot with little resources.

The grassroots civic organization is once again gearing up for the annual Family Fun Days, an event that helps bring the community closer together as well as raises money for needs within the village’s park and other areas.

Like most civic organizations today, membership has waned but those who are still there are committed to making a difference.

Although small in size, Family Fun Days has carved out its niche among Tri-State summer festivals by offering a variety of activities and showcasing local musical talent from July 1-3. And of course an impressive fireworks display doesn’t hurt.

But, before the event kicks off organizers will be asking area businesses for support and donated items that can be auctioned off. The more support they get now will make event that much more successful.

The Coal Grove Betterment Club will supply the fun. The Lawrence County community just has to supply the family.
