PEDRO — Ok, it’s been long enough. Time to end this.
Getting their first sectional tournament game win since 2013, the Rock Hill Redwomen pounded out 14 hits en route to a 13-3 five-inning win over the Southeastern Lady Panthers in a Division III game on Tuesday.
Rock Hill took a 3-0 lead in the first inning.
Grace Stevens, Rileigh Morris and Kylee Howard all singled. Makenzie Hanshaw walked to force in a run and two more scored on a wild pitch and a passed ball.
The lead went to 7-0 in the second.
Kelsey Olderham tripled and scored on Sami Stamper’s base hit. Morris then singled, Howard doubled and Baylee Harrah singled.
The lead went to 9-0 in the third inning when Olderham and Stamper reached on errors and Stevens singled.
Aleigha Matney singled to drive in Adams in the fourth after she singled and stole second.
Southeastern got three runs in the top of the fifth.
Gray walked, L Lockwood singled, S. Francis walked and C. Huff doubled to clear the bases.
But Rock Hill answered with three runs in the bottom of the inning to create the run rule win.
Stamper singled, moved up on an error and scored when Grace Stevens grounded out. Morris walked, Howard singled, Hanshaw hit into a force play and Adams drove in two runs with a walk-off double.
